Used To Me filly Gardena Ronda lines up in the $20,000 HRNSW 2yo Trotters Foundation Final, 2300m, at Menangle on Saturday, June 26.
Bred by Yabby Dam Farms, Garden Ronda has caught the eye in her first two starts – each heats of the HRNSW Foundation series at Menangle.
She finished third on debut over 1609m and then saluted after settling midfield and finished strongly over the 2300m trip for trainer-driver Blake Fitzpatrick.
Gardena Ronda is the first foal out of Kadabra mare Val Gardena, which won 12 races, including the group 2 Breeders Crown Championship for 4yo trotting mares.
Garden Ronda continues the excellent strike rate of French-bred Used To Me with two-year-olds.
An Australian-based member of the Haras des Trotteurs stallion roster, Used To Me has had 10 individual winners from the 16 of his progeny to get to the races - six of the winners scoring as two-year-olds.
They include last season’s group 1 Vicbred Super Series 2yo trotting colts/geldings final winner Dont Care, She Sailz, My Used To Me, Surprise To Me, Champagne Charley (all last season) and Gardena Ronda.
Dont Care and My Used To Me have already gone on to win as three-year-olds.
Haras des Trotteurs’ longstanding champion stallion Love You is also represented in the HRNSW 2yo Trotters Foundation Final.
The French sire has three runners – Van Doren, So Vogue and Florencita.
