The French group 1 Prix d’Amerique Day is a trotting extravaganza. One of harness racing’s biggest race meetings anywhere in the world.
The 2025 edition at Hippodrome de Vincennes in Paris on January 26 was as big as ever with colour and excitement that it has become renowned for since first being run in 1920.
Idao De Tillard joined the great by taking out the Prix d'Amerique for the second year in a row.
He's the 17th to win the race in consecutive years, joining the likes French stallions Ready Cash (2011-12), Bold Eagle (2016-17) and Face Time Bourbon (2020-21) - all stallions with yearlings going through this year's NZ and Australian sales.

As well as being a great day for every winner and connections in front of a bumper crowd of 45,000 on the 10-race card, it was a showcase for breeding and in particular for top stallions.
Super French sires Face Time Bourbon and Village Mystic were among those to boast winners, which is of particular interest in regard to upcoming yearling sales in Australia and New Zealand.
Face Time Bourbon 4yo Lord Deli Fra saluted in the Prix Mini Maker.
He had his fourth win in nine starts as Face Time Bourbon produced the quinella.
Village Mystic’s win came in the form of 6yo Working Class Hero Fra in the Prix Jean Rene Gougeon. She also has an impressive record of five wins in eights.
Southern Hemisphere enthusiasts will get rare opportunities to secure progeny of these two great sires at the New Zealand Standardbred Yearling Sale at Karaka on February 15 and Nutrien Equine Yearling Sale on April 13.
