A Volstead weanling colt offered by Yabby Dam Farms has topped the inaugural Nutrien Equine Online Spring Mixed Standardbred Sale.
The son of New Zealand-bred mare Aspiring Love brought $16,100.
He is from the first crop of US-bred Swedish group 1-winner Volstead and among the first foals of the Haras des Trotteurs stallion to go under the hammer.
Volstead shuttled to Australia last year and this breeding season is available to Australian breeders via frozen semen.
Yabby Dam Farms offered and sold four Volstead weanlings at an average $9875.
Purplepeopleater attracted the top broodmare price at the sale.
In foal to two-time Elitloppet winner Timoko, she was sold for $13,600.
Yabby Dam Farms offered 11 lots, with all being sold.
