XEBEC has become the most successful offspring of French-bred stallion ORLANDO VICI in New Zealand.
Trained by former Australi
an-based Frenchman Ben Aubron, won his second race since arriving in NZ at Cambridge Raceway on Wednesday night.
The four-year-old came off 30m to take out the CHECKOUT BRUNTWOOD EQUESTRIAN HANDICAP, 2700m, with regular reinsman Zac Butcher in the cart.
He trotted boldly to the lead at the bell and did as he liked, hitting the line with more than 4m to spare.
Xebec is owned by Aubron and was bred by Yabby Dam Farms in Australia, where won the New South Wales Trotters’ Derby.
Orlando Vici has only had a handful of starters in New Zealand.
Xebec gives him three Australasian winners inside a week, with BRANDLO PRINCE saluting at Melton on July 4 and BEAU GARCON at Shepparton on July 6.
